Air India Express and AirAsia India integrate reservation systems for a seamless travel experience

Air India Express and AirAsia India integrate reservation

Air India Express and AirAsia India have recently announced the integration of their reservation systems, allowing passengers to book flights with both airlines through a single website, airindiaexpress.com. This merger is still ongoing, with the combined entity focusing on leisure-oriented and price-sensitive markets, providing an affordable option for India tours.

The integration of Air India Express and Air Asia India’s core reservations and passenger-facing systems brings several efficiency benefits, including shared social media and customer support channels. Additionally, passengers can now make and manage bookings, as well as check-in for domestic and international flights on an all-new integrated website.

Through the adoption of each airline’s best practices, systems, and routes, the integration of Air India Express and Air India will bring revenue, cost, and operational benefits, as well as greater economies of scale. The new Air India Express will cater to leisure and price-sensitive markets while improving connectivity between key domestic cities and Air India’s rapidly expanding international network.

This integration marks a significant milestone in the Air India Group’s transformation journey, according to Air India CEO and MD Campbell Wilson.

AirAsia India serves 19 domestic destinations from 19 Indian cities, while Air India Express serves 14 international destinations from 19 Indian cities.

All airlines, including Vistara, are part of the Tata Group, which purchased Air India, Air India Express, and a 50% stake in ground handling firm Air India SATS Airport Services Pvt Ltd last year.
