Air Mauritius to Resume Direct Flights to New Delhi After Three-Year Hiatus

Air Mauritius has announced the resumption of its direct flights to and from Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi from May 3, 2023. The airline will operate two weekly flights using Airbus A330 aircraft, offering a Business and Economy class configuration with a total capacity of 254 seats. The flight duration will be seven and a half hours. Additionally, Air Mauritius already operates six weekly flights to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai.

Krešimir Kučko, CEO of Air Mauritius, expressed his enthusiasm for resuming operations in New Delhi after three years of absence. He stated that India and Mauritius share a special relationship built on people-to-people ties and cultural, ancestral, linguistic, and geographical similarities. He also mentioned that Air Mauritius is celebrating its 50th year of presence in Mumbai in April this year and exploring new avenues with Air India for seamless connectivity to several destinations in India via both Mumbai and New Delhi.

Air Mauritius has a modern fleet consisting of the latest generation aircraft such as the Airbus A350-900 XWB and the A330-900neo. The airline has received a 4-star rating from rating agency SKYTRAX and has won several awards, including the Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline Economy Class 2021 and the Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline Brand 2021 & 2022 at the World Travel Awards.
