AirAsia India, also known as AIX connect, has recently launched its daily flight service from Surat, Gujarat to major Indian cities including Delhi, Bengaluru, and Kolkata. The first flight was flagged off on Friday, March 03, 2023, by Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. This move is expected to boost Surat’s connectivity and enhance its position as a hub for commerce and entrepreneurship.
According to AirAsia India, the new routes will connect Surat to a total of ten cities, including one international metropolis. This significant increase in air connectivity in Surat and Gujarat is a result of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. Scindia stated that prior to 2014, there were only 36 weekly flights from Surat. However, under Modi’s leadership, this has increased by 322 percent to 152 flights per week.
The flight schedule includes six different flights operating to and from Surat, connecting the city to major Indian cities such as Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and others. The schedule displays flight numbers, departure and arrival locations, and their respective timings in a 24-hour format.
AirAsia India’s move to connect Surat to major Indian cities is a positive step towards improving air connectivity and promoting economic growth in the region. This will not only benefit the people of Surat but also facilitate the movement of goods and services, creating new business opportunities for entrepreneurs. Overall, this is a significant development for Surat, Gujarat, and India as a whole.
