Visitors can soon take a trip to the stargazing area near the famed Ajanta Caves. According to reports, The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has decided to begin an initiative to stargaze close to Ajanta Caves in Aurangabad next month. An official with know-how confirmed this.
The project’s details were revealed; MTDC General Manager Chandrashekar Jaiswal said that the project would be operated and set up at a remote location called the Ajanta View Point, which is far from the light source and provides 360-degree views over Ajanta Caves. Ajanta Caves Hill. According to local officials, this is where the caves were discovered accidentally on the 28th of April 1819 by Madras Presidency officer John Smith when he was hunting the tiger.
Jaiswal said that the park already offers numerous amenities for visitors to enjoy. Its newest project is the community-based tourism initiative, which will allow locals to be taught using telescopes to provide a basic understanding of the stars in the night sky.
He also explained that the project would be seasonal since skies are clear during winter, and the dark fringe of the site ensures that stars can be seen. The program will begin each evening after the dark sets in and last for between two and 3 hours, according to him. The project will likely be completed in November and run until November.
In further detail, Regional Director Sanjay Harne stated that basic infrastructure was being put up, and the selection of the people needed to be involved in the project was being completed.
