Travel restrictions in Switzerland will be eased from May 2

Do you have plans to visit Switzerland? You will soon be able to do so because Switzerland, one of the most popular tourist destinations around the globe, will open its doors fully to visitors from all around the world starting on May 2, 2022.

According to reports, Switzerland’s State Secretariat of Migration (SEM) recently announced that all entry restrictions imposed during the pandemic will be lifted on May 2.

In response, Ritu Sharma, Director of Marketing – India, Switzerland Tourism, informed the audience that Switzerland is at the top of the list of avid travelers across the globe eager to visit the country without being burdened with paperwork these past two years.

According to reports, Switzerland had removed some of its travel and entry restrictions related to COVID-19 around mid-February. And as per the latest announcement, the general rules that existed in the pre-pandemic times will be restored.

Currently, all travelers must present a valid recovery or vaccination certificate in order to enter Switzerland without restriction. The new entry rules, however, will not require travellers to hold either a valid recovery or vaccination certificate when they begin applying.

Travellers will be required to follow Swiss regulations starting May 2 only if any such requirement applies to them, such as holding a valid passport or visa.
