Due to inclement weather, Amarnath Yatra is currently suspended, and pilgrims from both Baltal and Pahalgam camps cannot proceed toward the revered cave.
According to the officials, the yatra was suspended due to heavy rains and will be resumed only after the weather improves.
The situation has improved, and Amarnath pilgrim convoys from Jammu are now allowed to move toward Kashmir valley after mudslides and shooting stones blocked the Ramban district’s national highway.
There are reports that the Amarnath Yatra has resumed via the traditional Pahalgam route, whereas the route through Baltal remains suspended. According to another traffic advisory, the Jammu-Srinagar highway has been completed. However, many stretches remain single-lane, and shooting stones are still being fired intermittently.
According to officials in the know-how, people have been advised not to travel on the highway without traffic police confirmation. Stranded vehicles are being cleared, they added.

According to officials, the highway, the only all-weather road connecting Kashmir to the rest of the country, was affected by shooting stones and mudslides at Mehaar, Cafeteria Moore, and Pantiyal. Officials said work on clearing the highway and ensuring two-way traffic is in full swing.
