Australia has removed all remaining COVID-19 entry restrictions effective this week, making it more convenient for travelers. For the past two years, Australia has placed the world’s most stringent pandemic-related border restrictions.
The nation has now removed all remaining restrictions, including the requirement to show proof of vaccination and a negative test report to allow people to enter.
The Department of Home Affairs has informed that people who wish to travel to Australia won’t need to fill out a Digital Passenger Declaration.
Unvaccinated visa holders are also allowed to enter the country. Australian Border Force tweeted that COVID-19 border restrictions had been removed. Travelers no require to complete a Digital Passenger Declaration or Maritime Travel Declaration. All visa holders are allowed to travel to Australia without a travel exclusion.
Although the country has lifted all restrictions, certain states may still impose their own rules. Australia will require face masks for flights. Airlines have their own vaccination rules. Qantas and Virgin Australia will require that passengers show proof of their vaccinations to fly internationally.
Australia began welcoming foreign tourists in February 2022. However, there were restrictions and entry requirements. Visitors had to be fully vaccinated and have proof of a negative RT PCR. In April, however, the country relaxed its pre-arrival testing requirements.
This development has made Australia the latest country to lift all COVID-19-related entry restrictions. All entry restrictions related to the pandemic have been removed by Australia, Italy, Sweden, Sweden, Iceland, Ireland, and Aruba.
