Air India Express is expanding its horizons with the introduction of direct flights connecting Ayodhya to Bengaluru and Kolkata, starting January 17, 2024. This move not only strengthens the airline’s presence in Uttar Pradesh but also enhances Ayodhya’s connectivity with two of India’s major metropolitan cities.
Inaugural Flights and Expanded Routes
The inaugural flight between Ayodhya and Delhi will mark the beginning of a new chapter on December 30, coinciding with the grand opening of the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhya Dham. Following this, the first flight on the new Bengaluru-Ayodhya route will take off on January 17 at 08:05, arriving in Ayodhya at 10:35. The return journey from Ayodhya to Bengaluru is scheduled for 15:40, reaching its destination at 18:10.
Similarly, the Ayodhya-Kolkata route will see its first flight departing from Ayodhya at 11:05 and arriving in Kolkata at 12:50. The return flight from Kolkata to Ayodhya is set to depart at 13:25, landing back in Ayodhya at 15:10.
A Strategic Move for Enhanced Connectivity
Dr. Ankur Garg, Chief Commercial Officer at Air India Express, expressed his views on the new routes: “The introduction of non-stop services connecting Ayodhya with Delhi, Bengaluru, and Kolkata is a testament to our commitment to expand connectivity across India. These routes will transform Bengaluru and Kolkata into pivotal hubs, providing convenient travel options for pilgrims and tourists from South and Eastern India.”

The airline has scheduled tri-weekly non-stop flights for these new routes. The schedule is as follows:
- Bengaluru to Ayodhya: Departure at 08:05, Arrival at 10:35 (Mon, Wed, Thu)
- Ayodhya to Bengaluru: Departure at 15:40, Arrival at 18:10 (Mon, Wed, Thu)
- Ayodhya to Kolkata: Departure at 11:05, Arrival at 12:50 (Mon, Wed, Thu)
- Kolkata to Ayodhya: Departure at 13:25, Arrival at 15:10 (Mon, Wed, Thu)
