Ropeway Travel from Dharamshala to Mcleodganj in 5 minutes

With the new ropeway route recently inaugurated by Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, it will now be possible to travel from Dharamshala to Mcleodganj in just five minutes. The ropeway is around 1.8 km long and was built for more than INR 200 crores. It is known as the Dharamshala Skyway.

The ropeway allows travelers to take a scenic aerial view of Mcleodganj while traveling from Dharamshala. The ropeway has a capacity of carrying 1,000 persons each hour, according to reports.

In the peak tourist season, there are frequent traffic jams on the road between Dharamshala and Mcleodganj. However, the said ropeway will reduce travel time by more than 40 percent. Himachal Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the Dharamshala Skyway has constructed at a cost of INR 207 crore and has two stations and ten towers.

In accordance with reports, the top station of this ropeway is located in front of the Dalai Lama Temple, and it uses the Mono Cable Detachable Gondolas Technology, which has been proven to be effective in several western countries.

In Dharamsala to Mcleodganj, a one-way fare for this ropeway is INR 300, while a two-way fare is INR 500.
