Travelers from India vaccinated with Covaxin can now travel to Switzerland. Switzerland Tourism announced that all fully vaccinated travellers from India will be able to travel to Switzerland without being subjected to quarantine, but will be required to take the COVID-19 test upon arrival.
Following the WHO’s endorsement of India’s indigenously produced vaccine for emergency use, the Swiss have now authorized the entry of Indian tourists vaccinated with Covaxin into the European tourist hotspot. From September 2021 they will be allowed entry as those inoculated with Covishield.
Therefore, upon arrival in Switzerland, tourists who have taken both doses of Covaxin or Covishield will only need to fill out an entry form and present a COVID vaccination certificate. Additionally, travelers who have recovered from COVID-19 within the past six months are exempt from quarantine and testing.
Additionally, the Embassy of Switzerland in Delhi and VFS Global accept applications for all types of Schengen Swiss visas, including Type C (for stays up to 90 days within a 180-day period). The vaccinated travelers can now apply for their visas at any VFS Global center in Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Bengaluru, Cochin, Chennai, or Hyderabad.
