Fiji, officially called the Republic of Fiji, an island nation located within Melanesia, is finally removing the requirement for post-arrival COvid-19 tests for travelers from abroad.
Fiji’s health system continues to offer protection for the entire community through the widespread vaccination campaign that has been running for the past six weeks, leading to the steady reduction of COVID-19-related cases.
Fiji could ease more of our health-related measures due to its high levels of vaccination protection for the entire community and the expansion of coverage to children, a rise in the number of booster doses being administered, and reducing the number of cases.
Fiji – Entry Requirements For International Travellers
Fiji has withdrawn the requirement to conduct post-arrival tests for visitors from outside the country as of September 5th, 2022. No tests or proof of booking tests are required for flights that depart from Fiji.
While mandatory COVID-19 tests at the time of arrival are being eliminated, COVID-19 testing will be mandatory for those who experience COVID-19 symptoms. Those who arrive in Fiji must self-report with a single arrival card.
The positive patients are now ordered to stay in isolation of the affected person for a minimum of five consecutive days instead of the last seven days.
Furthermore, those in isolation who continue to exhibit symptoms of COVID-19 even after five days will be required to stay for seven days.
Individuals in isolation who continue to show symptoms of COVID-19 even after five days will have to endure the entire seven-day duration.
The decision to end tests at the airport after arrival follows similar actions adopted by Australia and The United States, the United Kingdom, and European nations like Germany. The changes are expected to accelerate the economic growth of Fiji and simplify the airport’s operations.
