Chitrakoot is a town in Uttar Pradesh’s Vindhya Hills, known for its spiritual heritage. Embraced by mythology’s hues, this city will soon get Uttar Pradesh’s first tabletop airport. The airport is being built at a cost of Rs 146 crore and will become Bundelkhand’s first operational airport. In this case, the Airport Authority of India (AAI) will be responsible for its management. A 20-seater aircraft will take its first flight from here immediately after its inauguration and acquisition of all necessary licenses from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
How does a tabletop airport work?
Basically, a tabletop airport is a runaway on top of a hill or plateau. Additionally, either one or both ends of the airport are adjacent to steep precipices that drop straight down into deep canyons.
Visiting Chitrakoot and exploring its spirituality
In September 2019, the ropeway at Chitrakoot became the center of attraction for tourists visiting the place, according to a government spokesperson. As a result of the Bundelkhand Expressway, Chitrakoot is now accessible by both air and road.
Due to its beauty and history, Chitrakoot has become a popular tourist destination for people from all over the world. Lord Shri Ram spent most of his exile (about 11 years) in this holy land.
As well as Gupt Godavari, Kamadgiri Parvat, Bharatkup, Ganeshbagh, Sati Anusuiya Ashram, Rajapur, Dharkudi, Jankikund, Ramghat and Bharat Milap Temple, Chitrakoot waterfall, Hanuman stream, and Sphatik Shila are popular tourist attractions in Chitrakoot, where Lord Ram and his wife, Sita, visited.
As part of its responsibility for maintaining Chitrakoot, the Shri Chitrakoot Dham Teerth Development Council ensures holistic development, including enriching the natural surroundings while preserving the rich heritage of the pilgrimage site.
