The Malaysian government will soon resume providing visas on arrival to Indians.
As a step toward attracting more tourists, Malaysia plans to reintroduce the option of visa on arrival for Indians. The government has relaxed the curbs on COVID, and e-visas will be issued soon. An Indian delegation representing Tourism Malaysia is in India to promote travel to Malaysia as part of reviving the Southeast Asian nation’s tourism industry.
Manoharan Periasamy, Malaysia’s Senior Director of the International Promotion Division (Asia & Africa), told media persons at the event that the country eliminated all travel restrictions on April 1. There are now 76 flights per week from India to Malaysia, of which 59 originate in South India.
Bangalore is a key place from which travelers arrive,” he said. Visa on arrival was suspended during the pandemic but will resume in two months. He said e-visas will be processed within 2-3 working days, mostly for tourists.
