Air India announced on Thursday that it will operate 24 additional domestic flights starting on August 20. A statement from Air India said the airline has added 24 new flights to its network, including two new frequencies from Delhi to Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Ahmedabad, and from Mumbai to Chennai and Hyderabad. Another new frequency was added to the Mumbai-Bengaluru route and the Ahmedabad-Pune route.
“Air India has been working closely with its partners over the past six months to restore aircraft to service, and we are delighted that this effort is now bearing fruit.”
Air India has a fleet of 70 narrowbody aircraft, of which 54 are serviceable at the moment. As the remaining 16 aircraft return to service through early 2023, they will be gradually replaced.
