The Indian Railways plan to launch a Sikh pilgrimage train in the country in the near future. The train will be called the “Gurudwara Circuit Train”.

Special trains are going to be launched by the Indian Railways for Sikh devotees. Ashwini Vaishnav, the Minister of Railways, recently announced that a specially designed Gurudwara Circuit train will be launched soon for Sikh pilgrims.

According to the news, the 11-day journey begins and ends in Amritsar. A train proposed during this period will cover four prominent gurudwaras, namely Harminder Sahib in Amritsar, Patna Sahib in Patna (Bihar), Hazoor Nanded Sahib in Nanded, Maharashtra & Damdama Sahib in Bhatinda.

The price of air-conditioned coaches and sleeper trains is determined by the train operator. Trains will stop at a number of different stations along the route, including Ambala, Saharanpur, Lucknow, Manmad, Surat, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Bathinda, and Amritsar. Travelers have the option of a sleeper class or air-conditioned class on 16 coaches.
Additionally, the train will be leased for at least five years and may be extended. According to officials, the annual lease cost will be 7 percent of the depreciated value of the coach. Passengers will also be able to book food in advance for the pantry car.
Railways introduced spiritual trains dedicated to devotees of Hinduism and Buddhism in the past, called ‘Ramayana Circuit’ and ‘Buddha Circuit,’ respectively. They have now launched a ‘Sikh Circuit’ for Sikh devotees. The railways plan to introduce a ‘Gandhi Circuit Special Train’ in the future to spread Gandhi’s philosophy.
