Are you taking an eVisa, eTA, or ENTRI from India to another country? If you answered yes, you must now carry a hard copy of your visa with you when you depart from the country.
ICPs will scan hard copies of visas for visitors from India, as outlined in a notification published by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Travelers with an eVisa, eTA, or ENTRI Visa are not required to carry a hard copy of their visa; those with a sticker visa are not required to.
As the Indian government has mandated the requirement that Indian passport holders carry hard copies of foreign visas while departing from India, all foreign visa copies should be scanned at the immigration counters at all ICPs.
Therefore, it is recommended that all Indian travelers with foreign visas be informed of the above requirements, especially those who carry a soft copy of their visa on their phones.
From now on, all Indian passengers (excluding those who have sticker visas pasted on their passports) departing from any international airport are required to carry a hard copy of their visa.
All international airports have also been ordered by the Ministry of Home Affairs to notify all airlines that fall under their jurisdiction and to guide passengers accordingly.
