Come February 17-27, Agra is hosting one of India’s biggest and grandest cultural festivals – the Taj Mahotsav. The 10-day-long festival takes place near the Taj Mahal’s Eastern Gate.
The Taj Mahotsav is organized by Agra’s Taj Mahotsav Committee, which celebrates India’s rich arts, crafts, culture, music, dance, and cuisine over 10 days.

The Taj Mahotsav is an annual cultural festival held in India. The festival celebrates the art, culture, and heritage of India, with a special focus on the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Taj Mahotsav: what did you experience?
You can see the incredible works of India’s most celebrated artisans at the festival. Hundreds of well-known artisans participate and display their works. Several of these artworks are regional specialties. For instance, bamboo and cane work from the North East, marble and zardozi work from Uttar Pradesh, and carpets and shawls from Kashmir.
There are folk and classical performances of music and dance at the festival for music and dance lovers. Festival attendees will get to see different dance forms from all over India. They will also get to see some long-forgotten dance forms. What a treat!
