It is well to note that things are going well for Jharkhand, in particular for the East Singhbhum district, where there have been talks of developing 13 new tourist spots. These are not new spots, but already existing ones, which will now benefit greatly from the much-needed publicity.
As a result of the lack of infrastructure in the existing sites, Jharkhand is one of the least explored states in India. Therefore, it is not surprising that it is one of the least explored states in the country. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t any interesting places to visit in this state.
There is a focus on rural tourism and eco-tourism in several rural areas in East Singhbhum district this time.
There are a number of spots that need to be addressed :
- Dharagiri waterfalls
- Kashidanga Shiva Temple
- Siddheswar Hills
- Satnala Hills
- Kanaiswar hilltop
- Gotashila hill
- Kiya waterfalls
- Jyoti hill
- Galudih barrage
- Lakhaidih
- Mukhteswardham Harina,
- Kaleswardham and
- Kokda.
Additionally, the authorities have suggested Hatikheda temple and Bhuteswar temple as potential tourist sites in Patamda and Paharbhanga.
Many of these places sound like interesting places to hike or explore nature.
Despite local tourism, these spots are now looking to attract national and international tourism.
A benefit of exploring offbeat places is that we get to experience not just the place, but many local cultural and traditional events as well. Some local fairs, such as Tusu Mela, Chitreshwar Dham Mela, and Harina Mela, are popular locally but may attract tourists from outside the state.
Jharkhand will become one of India’s top tourist destinations if proper infrastructure and attention is given to these places.
