Kashmir Tourism now offers Adventure Paragliding in Srinagar

In the interest of promoting tourism in the region, authorities from the Kashmir department for tourism, in collaboration and a paragliding private business introduced adventure paragliding in Srinagar according to the authorities on Sunday.

The scorching heat is sweeping across the nation, tourists are now heading towards the Kashmir valley to a stunning new paragliding site, Astanmarg top.

The area is located on the outskirts of Srinagar Paragliding starting at Astanmarg the top of the mountain and continues to Chandpora ground. The vertical drop at 2500 feet (ft) is a feast for both adventure enthusiasts and tourists. Visitors can book the ride on the internet and then report it is available at Harwan gardens, which is a 15-minute journey from Harwan to Astanmarg which is located at 2255m/7400ft.

The experts were briefed on the equipment and safety rules and the gliders are able to take the flight for 12 to 15 minutes. The location of the landing can be found in Chandpora, Srinagar located at 1615 meters/ 5330 feet. Visitors from far and the locals have experienced the excitement of flying for free.

“I did realize my dream of flying like a bird from Astanmarg which overlooks Dal lake, Mahadev peak, Dachigam National Park, and Mughal Gardens and it feels mesmerizing from the top,” said an individual tourist, Atish Jain. The trainers at the site also applauded the participants.

“Glide in the clear blue sky into the fantastic and unbelievable view of the Zabarwan mountains, The tourists have been loving it,” said Hem Raj, an instructor.
