Kushinagar International Airport is ready to welcome, Buddhist pilgrims. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Kushinagar International Airport on Wednesday. It is the first airport in the historical region, which is well-known for Buddhist pilgrimage. Governments expect that by establishing this new airport, they will help to encourage the tourism industry and attract more tourists.

Buddhism has great significance in Kushinagar, the last resting place of Lord Buddha after he reached Mahaparinirvana. As a result of the new airport, pilgrims will travel from all over the world to make the pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca.

During the opening event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the new airport in Kushinagar would assist people, farmers, shop owners, pilgrims, and local enterprises. As a result, he said a new business and tourist environment would be created with maximum advantage. In the tourist and hospitality industry, the airport will also open up new work prospects for the locals.
