As a new tourist attraction, Rajasthan Tourism Department’s Shri Tanot Complex in Jaisalmer has been approved by the Centre to boost tourism in Rajasthan. A total of Rs 17.67 crore has also been sanctioned for the region’s infrastructure development and tourism-related activities.
Numerous stories of war heroism and cultural heritage in these secluded desert areas near the border attract tourists. Still, the newest initiative is expected to provide more convenient and safe access.
As part of this initiative, Rajasthan Tourism, in collaboration with the Border Security Force (BSF) and other central agencies, will open a new door for locals living in far-off villages and visitors interested in learning about the life of people living in border areas.
Tanot village of Jaisalmer district will receive a theatre, interpretation centre, children’s activity area, cafeteria, solar-powered streetlights, signage, surveillance system, and sewage and waste management facilities as part of the tourism initiative. Besides operating and maintaining tourist attractions, the BSF will also organize exhibitions for tourists.

Nearly 3,000 devotees visit the Tanot Mata temple every day in addition to this. The Bawlianwala border point is also popular with visitors.
A documentary film will be screened, a weapon display will be held, and a photo gallery will be set up at the Operations Base in Jaisalmer as part of tourism activities. The district administration is also developing a development plan.
Jaisalmer, known for its iconic fort, is popular among tourists as a tourist destination. In addition to the majestic Havelis, the city also has a rich cultural heritage and beautiful natural surroundings.
