Good news for travellers in Gujarat! Starting December 1, 2024, Malaysia Airlines began direct flights between Ahmedabad and Kuala Lumpur. The first flight from Kuala Lumpur, MH106, landed in Ahmedabad at 9:40 pm and returned at 10:40 pm.
This new route follows other recent direct flights from Amritsar and Trivandrum. Now, Malaysia Airlines flies 65 times a week from India, including from cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, and others. They’re also increasing flights to Amritsar due to high demand.
Dersenish Aresandiran of Malaysia Aviation Group says this is great for travellers. India is very important for air travel, and these direct flights make it easier to fly. Plus, there’s a 30-day visa-free entry for Indian visitors to Malaysia now.
A representative from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad is also excited. They believe this will strengthen cultural and economic ties.
Here’s the flight schedule:
- From Ahmedabad to Kuala Lumpur: MH106 at 6:50 pm on Tuesdays and Fridays; MH208 at 11:00 pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
- From Kuala Lumpur to Ahmedabad: MH107 at 10:40 pm on Tuesdays and Fridays; MH209 at 2:55 am on Thursdays and Sundays.
