Among the folk dances that take part in the Mount Abu Winter Festival are the Daph or Dhamal dances from Haryana, the Ghoomar and Gair dance from Rajasthan, as well as many other folk dances from surrounding states like Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat. Besides traditional dancing, there will also be fireworks displays, kite-flying, traditional sports, and musical performances.
In the beginning, the festival always begins with a grand procession that begins at the hotel Shikhar, which is owned and operated by the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC). Following the procession that passes most of the scenic areas of the city, it eventually ends at Nakki Lake Chowk, where cultural troupes from several neighboring states perform a series of performances.
During the Mount Abu Winter Festival, Nakki lake plays a vital role in the festival, as a number of fun and adventurous activities take place on the lake. Water sports are a big part of the festival, as are rowing competitions. A very grand firework display marks the end of the festival, which offers a thrilling experience.
