The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India held a press conference during the second day of the Arabian Travel Market, Dubai -2022, where various tourism prospects in India were discussed. As part of the press conference, the Minister of Tourism, Government of Uttarakhand Satpal Maharaj discussed the benefits of the state that can be leveraged for the promotion of tourism, including wedding tourism and adventure tourism in Uttarakhand. The minister also outlined the government’s initiatives to increase tourism in the state. Other topics discussed included various infrastructure development projects such as the Haridwar International Airport.
Ministry of Tourism has been actively promoting different tourism destinations and products, focusing on MICE, Wellness Tourism, Film Tourism, Medical Tourism, Wildlife Tourism, Luxury Tourism, as well as Adventure Tourism.
The Middle East has been a major destination for Indian tourism and a large number of Middle Eastern tourists visit India for MICE, medical, wellness, and luxury tourism.
The conference also emphasized that India is welcoming international travelers, as seen by the Ministry of Tourism’s promotion of Indian tourism in the Middle East market, such as the Arabian Travel Mart.
At the Arabian Travel Market (ATM), Dubai -2022, which takes place from 9th to 12th May 2022, the India Pavilion will present India as a “365 Days Destination” with a wide range of tourist attractions, including Adventure, Culture, Golf, and many more.
At the India Pavilion, there will be 18 participants from India representing the States of Nagaland & Kerala. These participants will include Travel Agents, Travel Operators, and Hoteliers & Resorts. The State Governments of Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh will also showcase the potential of their tourism industries.
The Ministry maintains a 24-hour toll-free multilingual tourist helpline in Hindi, English, Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish, as the safety and security of travelers is a top priority.
