Now that travelers are not required to take COVID 19 tests to enter Cambodia, the country hopes to boost tourism in the months to come. In order to boost tourism, the country has gone ahead of its neighbors in easing restrictions.
During a speech, the Prime Minister of the country said, “Now it’s the stage to open the economy by learning how to live with COVID.”
92.3% of Cambodia’s population has been vaccinated against the virus, which is one of the highest rates in the region.
Cambodian authorities have asked visitors to test themselves, even though there is no mandatory testing, regardless of whether they arrive fully vaccinated. Moreover, travelers unable to present proof of vaccination must quarantine for 14 days.

In addition, Cambodia is planning to resume the visa-on-arrival program, but it has not yet announced an exact date. The visa-on-arrival program was suspended throughout the duration of the pandemic.
A World Bank report indicates that Cambodia experienced a 90.6 percent drop in international arrivals in the first seven months of 2021. Entrance fees for the Angkor Temple Complex, which is a popular tourist destination, also dropped 98.7 percent.
