Nubra Valley in Ladakh will soon get a new look and will be able to accommodate multiple destinations for the benefit of visitors.
Our main focus will be on improving the facilities in the area to ensure that tourists have a rewarding and meaningful experience.
In addition to fencing the Hunder sand dunes to ensure the safety and well-being of double-humped Bactrian camels, there will be a number of other development projects. Tourism in this area revolves around these camels. Desert safaris are conducted using these Bactrian camels.
According to officials, the well-being of Bactrian camels must be considered. All necessary steps must be taken to ensure the animals’ wellness, and Nubra Valley will be landscaped with areas to serve as camel shelters and camel grazing areas. In these designated areas, camel fodder is also to be grown so that there will always be a constant supply for these animals.
It is also planned to develop the Sumoor desert into a tourist attraction. Tourists should be able to take desert safaris in the Sumoor desert very soon.
As of now, there are going to be improvements for existing tourism activities in the area, such as online bookings for camel rides, free Wi-Fi, and more cafes and shops with washrooms, parking, and solar-powered establishments.
The development of Nubra as a multidestination area will include Silk Route Heritage Walks and nature trails. Astro tourism is also planned.
