This is one man-made lake which is quite small and is of course well maintained. It is dedicated to the Indian Army’s Garhwal Rifles who had sacrificed their lives to serve the nation.
Don’t forget to carry your camera to capture those amazing viewpoints of this picturesque lake. If you are lucky you surely will be spotting the ducks swimming in the lake while rabbits hopping close to the bank. Close to it, there is also an amusement park where you can take your kids to have fun. 4. Snow Viewpoint:
If trekking or hiking is on your to-do list then you can consider the Lansdowne option for sure. Because of its geographical location, there is a trek experience that you can enjoy. It is launched from a small town on the hillside.
The trek generally ranges from small hiking trails and can take quite a long time as it includes the climbing experience which of course would become tough and challenging. Complete the whole trek generally takes 2 to 3 days. The best trekking spots are Hawaghar and Snow Viewpoint.
5. Centenary Gate:
This gate was built in the year 1887 and is said to be commemorating the centenary of the Garhwal Rifles. No doubt the gate is quite giant and has the list of all those people who fought the Garhwal Rifles war.
Of course, there is no entry to the civilians but if you visit the place at 8 am, you will be able to treat your eyes with the soldier’s daily march past from outside the gates.

6. Tip N Top Viewpoint:
If you are keen to explore the amazing view of this natural beauty then there is another spot to visit called Tiffin Top. It is located on the ridge which is quite close to St. Mary’s Church. This is one popular tourist destination that has a serene and clean environment.

7. Bhim Pakora:
This place is located at Dhura road on the outskirts of Lansdowne town. The place has a rock which is said to be quite strong and certainly, it will not topple down at all irrespective of how steep the is slope no matter how hard you push it. The place is said to be in existence from the ancient epic ‘Mahabharata’.
As per the legendary story, it is believed that Bhim took the small rock and put it on another one when Pandavas were exiled. The best part is this rock can move to the center but will never fall down the slope. Close to it is Gandhi Chowk where you can shop a lot.

8. St. Mary’s Church:
This is an Anglican church located at the ‘tip n top’ hill of Lansdowne. It is believed that the church is recently converted as a reading room for the Protestant faith people who stay within the town.
The church is said to have attracted ample tourists and visitors because of the glass windows and walls that are holding it so strongly. When you are here, there is an audiovisual presentation that you must attend along with exploring the museum inside.

How To Reach?
There should not be a problem for you to reach this place which is located in Uttarakhand state. If you are planning to travel down this place by bus then it may take a little time. Since this destination is well connected to major cities, there are buses that will give you a beautiful view of the countryside while traveling.
You can also plan to reach this place by train for which Kotdwar is the nearest station from where the place is 40 km far. Unfortunately, there is no airport or a direct flight to this place but it is said that Jolly Grant is the nearest one which has regular flights from major North Indian cities. You can also reach this place by a shared or private taxi while enjoying the scenic view.
Best Time to Visit:
No matter in which season you plan to go to this place, of course, it will be an eye retreat for you. However, to enjoy most of the destinations without any disturbance, it is believed to visit the place between March and October. It is said that the summer and winter season is quite beautiful here.
If you visit in summer then you will be able to enjoy ample tourist activities which last till June. In the winter season, the climate is quite chilled with ample snowfall. It is said that the temperature may fall to the sub-zero level.
