Wildlife corridors are being developed, said Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. From Ranthambore in Rajasthan, a wildlife corridor will be created that will cover national parks in Madhya Pradesh. Wildlife corridors will boost tourism in the state, as well as support development.
The corridor will cover Madhya Pradesh’s Madhav National Park in Shivpuri district, Kuno-Palpur wildlife sanctuary in Sheopur district, and Panna Tiger Reserve in Panna district.
In a statement, Scindia said, “There is a plan to make a wildlife corridor connecting Ranthambore (which houses a national park), Kuno-Palpur (Sheopur), and the Madhav National Park (Shivpuri) with the Panna Tiger Reserve. This will result in the development of tourism and economic activity in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and the Bundelkhand region of MP.”
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, though, cheetahs are being delayed from South Africa to Kuno-Palpur Sanctuary. The cheetahs were supposed to arrive in March, but they have been delayed by about four weeks now.
During the meeting, the minister reviewed the situation concerning the Coronavirus. Due to rapid vaccination, the Omicron variant impact has been limited. It is important that people do not let down their guard in case of a pandemic.
There are many national parks and wildlife sanctuaries in Madhya Pradesh, making it one of the best wildlife destinations in the country. It is a great move to connect these destinations with Ranthambore National Park in Rajasthan in order to create a wholesome wildlife experience.
