Shirui Lily- the state flower of Manipur- will be celebrated at the 4th State Level Shirui Lily Festival held in April or May each year.
Demonstrations of the ancient customs and culture of the inhabitants of the Ukhrul district will be part of the festival. This festival is being held during the peak blooming season of the rose during the month of May.
The festival will promote the district of Ukhrul as a must-visit tourist destination in Manipur and spread awareness about the endangered Shirui Lily.
Organizing the festival is the Shirui Lily Festival Organising Committee, which is sponsored by the Department of Tourism, Manipur. The event is part of the efforts of Manipur Tourism to promote sustainable and responsible tourism in the state and to promote the Shirui Lily as the State Flower of Manipur.
Every year, Shirock, a music festival featuring international bands, will take place on the Bakshi Ground, the Shirui Village Ground, and the TNL Ground. Former editions of the festival have included international acts such as Steelheart, Queensryche, Nazareth, and Extreme.
Several cultural troupes from across the state will perform during the four-day celebration, including live music performances, exhibits, folk songs, traditional dances, and indigenous sports such as the Shirui Lily Grand Prix, in addition to other side activities such as camping and trekking.
