Great news for travellers between Sri Lanka and India! Sri Lankan Airlines has just launched two daily flights connecting Colombo with Mumbai. This new schedule means a 50% increase in seats on the Mumbai route, expanding the airline’s extensive network in India.
Travellers can now choose from two daily flights: UL 142 and UL 144 will leave Mumbai for Colombo at 3:10 am and 8:45 pm. Meanwhile, flights UL 141 and UL 143 will depart from Colombo to Mumbai at 11:45 pm and 5:10 pm. This offers more flexibility for those flying out of Mumbai, along with smooth connections in Colombo to destinations in the Far East, Europe, and Australia, including cities like Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, London, Frankfurt, Paris, Melbourne, and Sydney.
Dimuthu Tennakoon, the Head of Worldwide Sales and Distribution at Sri Lankan Airlines, commented on the expansion. He said, “India has always been a key market for us. With India’s growing prominence in global travel, enhancing our Mumbai-Colombo flights was a natural step. We’re thrilled to offer more seamless travel experiences, especially following Sri Lanka’s recent move to offer free visas to Indian travelers. We hope this encourages more visits between Mumbai and Sri Lanka.”
India has a special place in Sri Lankan Airlines’ network, being the only country with flights to nine different cities, including Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Trivandrum, Chennai, Trichy, and Madurai, in addition to Mumbai. With nearly 100 weekly flights to these destinations, Sri Lankan Airlines is a prime choice for Indian travelers.
The cultural and geographic closeness of India and Sri Lanka makes the island nation a familiar and welcoming destination for Indians. Sri Lankan Airlines enhances this experience with exceptional onboard services, offering delicious Indian vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes and warm, friendly service that reflects the spirit of Sri Lanka.
