On Saturday, Jammu & Kashmir’s low-cost carrier Go First became the first airline in the state to offer direct international cargo service from Srinagar, improving the airline’s international reach.
A Go First Airbus A320neo was used on its maiden flight G8 1595, which departed Sheikh-UL-Alam International Airport at 18:00 hours and arrived in Sharjah at 21:00 hours.
From Srinagar to Sharjah, Go First will operate four flights per week.
In the presence of Hon’ble Lt Governor Mr. Manoj Sinha and other dignitaries, Hon’ble Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah flagged off the inaugural flight from the Sheikh-UL-Alam International Airport in Srinagar.
Mr. Jyotiraditya Scindia, Honorable Minister of Civil Aviation, has conveyed his presence through an online presence from New Delhi.
A direct flight from Srinagar to Sharjah will boost trade and tourism between the two countries. Passengers can book flights to Sharjah for just INR 5000 as an early bird offer.
