Switzerland travelers have good news. News reports state that people who have been fully vaccinated and recovered will not be required to present a COVID-19 test report when entering Switzerland. The Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) requires all those who are not vaccinated or who have not recovered from COVID to take the testing before they can enter.
This information was shared by the Swiss Consulate General in Mumbai and they explained that the updated order came into effect on January 22. Therefore, those who have recovered from COVID or have been fully vaccinated will no longer be required to submit a negative PCR or Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) report before entering Switzerland.
According to reports, those infected or unvaccinated travellers will not be required to undergo follow-up tests once they arrive due to a limited capacity for testing. If a PCR test report is required during arrival, it should not be older than 72 hours or 24 hours if a RAT is required. Please note that passengers traveling by long-distance bus or plane will need to fill out the Passenger Locator Form (PLF).
To enter this country, persons who did not recover from COVID or had not been vaccinated must now present a check for negative results or a recovery report. In addition, they will have to fill out the PLF form online before arriving.
According to reports, Swiss citizens do not need to undergo quarantine. People with Swiss residence permits or Swiss passports will be able to enter Switzerland at any time. The Swiss border will impose health-related requirements on them.
COVID-19 tests will not be required of children under 16 years of age. Certain categories of people are also exempt from this rule, such as those who have medical emergencies or are transiting without stopping.
