There are 9 national parks within Tamil Nadu – Mudumalai National Park, Anamalai Tiger Reserve, Mukurthi National Park, Guindy National Park, Gulf of Mannar Marine National Park, Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary, Karikili Bird Sanctuary, Kalakad Wildlife Sanctuary as well as Agasthyamalai Biosphere Reserve.
With the exception of a few parks, all of them have fewer visitors. Making them more visible could be a major game-changer.
The upcoming 44th Chess Olympiad, which will host attendees from over 150 countries could be an excellent chance to promote different tourist destinations located in Tamil Nadu. Hotels with special deals, international fairs as well as encouraging rural tourism are excellent initiatives according to officials of the tourism department.
