In its press release, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has advised all travelers traveling home to India to conduct an RT-PCR test within 72 hours of departure and then upload the results to the Air Suvidha website. This is happening in the context that India has recently updated its COVID travel regulations.
However, the TAT office has added that since foreign visitors to Thailand do not have to provide proof of vaccinations or ATK results, there won’t be any restrictions on Indian travelers who wish to enter Thailand on October 1st, 2022.
According to the TAT office, to ensure the safety of tourists, they will monitor any changes or continue to update measures related to COVID-19 protocol that may impact Indian tourists who travel to Thailand. They also stated that Thailand’s testing facilities are extensive and easily accessible.
In the meantime, due to the increase in COVID instances in different countries the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India has recently updated its guidelines for travelers entering India. It has also required RT-PCR tests for people coming via Thailand and five other Asian countries, effective January 1st, 2023.
Additionally, passengers from those countries must upload their information via Air Suvidha. Air Suvidha portal before travel.
In this regard, the TAT stated that all business and tourism services are in operation, and tourism is returning to normal levels without restrictions on travel within the country.
