According to the UK’s Secretary of State for Transport, starting on 18 March 2022, all international travel restrictions that stem from Covid-19 will be lifted.
International travelers as well as the travel and aviation industries will benefit greatly from the decision to end all restrictions associated with Covid-19.
As announced, the following restrictions on travel will be ended starting at 4 am Friday 18 March;
Entry into the United Kingdom requires the completion of the Passenger Locator Form (PLF).
All Covid-19 tests for passengers who are not vaccinated.
The new travel policies do not require unvaccinated passengers to undergo a pre-departure PCR test and a second test on the second day after arrival.
“All remaining Covid travel measures, including the Passenger Locator Form and tests for all arrivals, will be stood down for travel to the UK from 4 am on 18 March. These changes are possible due to our vaccine rollout and mean greater freedom in time for Easter,” said Grant Shapps, Secretary of State for Transport.

In addition to the government’s decisions, as outlined in the Living with COVID strategy, this step also reflects the country’s successful vaccine rollout, with 86% receiving a second dosage and 67% receiving a booster.
Secretary of Transportation Grant Shapps said; “The UK has led the world in removing all COVID-19 travel restrictions, and this announcement is testament to the hard work and determination everyone in this country has put in to roll out the vaccine and protect each other.”
“I promised not to keep travel measures in place any longer than necessary, which we’re delivering on today – providing more welcome news and greater freedom for travelers before the Easter holidays.
“I look forward to continuing to work with the travel sector and partners around the world to keep international travel moving.”
