Turkey has relaxed all travel restrictions for visitors to enter the country and expects to welcome the largest number of Indian visitors during the year ahead, Turkiye Tourism Board said on Monday.
In the past, Indian travelers were required to provide either a certificate of vaccination or an RT-PCR test report in order to travel to Turkey According to an announcement.
In the present, Indian travelers no longer need to provide proof of coronavirus vaccination or evidence of recovering from the disease, or the negative result of RT-PCR tests the report said.
In the wake of the two airlines Indigo, as well as Turkish Airlines resuming direct international flights to Turkiye The Turkiye, is set to receive its highest ever amount of Indian visitors this year, the statement said.
Tourism in Turkey reached more than USD 25 billion in revenues in the year that ended 2017, with the highest growth rate of 103 percent after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is expected to break records in 2022, according to the report.
The country was ranked as one of the most popular locations in the world for Free Independent Travelers (FIT) and Meeting Incentive Travel, Conferences and Events (MICE) travelers from all over the globe last year, welcoming more than 30 million visitors from around the world from 2021 onwards, Turkiye Tourism Board stated.
Of them, 50,000 included Indian travelers, which is an enormous number when taking the spread of the disease into account.
Thus, Turkey is expecting full improvement in tourism in 2022 and trying to get back to pre-Covid levels for international visitors including Indians as well, the statement added.
The country received 52 million tourists during the year prior to the pandemic which amounted to US$ 34.5 billion in revenue from tourism according to the announcement.
With this growing speed, Turkey is expecting the traveler numbers to increase to levels similar to those of the year by 2022’s end the of the year 2022, when the demand for international travel is rising and travelers are eager to travel and explore new destinations, according to the report.
