The United Arab Emirates has reopened its borders to many African countries. The UAE will be welcoming travelers from Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Kongo, South Africa, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, and Zimbabwe starting January 29. These are the latest travel updates from the NCEMA. The authorities have also updated the entry requirements for travelers arriving from Uganda, Ghana, and Rwanda.
According to the UAE authorities, those traveling from African countries must obtain a negative PCR COVID-19 test 48 hours prior to departure and a negative rapid PCR test at the airport of departure.
How do I enter the UAE from an African country?
The COVID-19 PCR test must now be negative for passengers from these countries. An accompanying QR code must be scanned at an authorized facility within 48 hours of departure for a test to be performed.
The quick test certificate must also be negative for COVID-19. The test must be performed at the departure airport within six hours of your departure. A PCR test must also be completed upon arrival. When passengers arrive they will be tested. Ugandans, Ghanaians, and Rwandans traveling from these three countries are required to take these tests.
What types of citizens are not eligible to fly to UAE?
