Travellers from 33 countries would be asked to provide evidence of vaccination before boarding the flight and submit a negative Covid-19 test before boarding the aircraft.

Travellers who are completely vaccinated will enter the United States of America beginning on November 8. On November 8, the White House Assistant Press Secretary Kevin Munoz tweeted: “The United States’ new travel policy requiring immunization for foreign nationals travelling to the United States will take effect,” he said. It is important to note that this notification and date apply to international air travel and ground transportation. ‘This policy is based on public health principles, and it is rigorous and consistent.”

The United States will allow fully vaccinated travellers from India, the United Kingdom, Ireland, China, South Africa, Iran, and Brazil to travel to the country beginning November 8.

The country will also allow travellers from 26 other European countries, including France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, and Greece, to travel to the country.

Travellers from these countries would be required to provide certification of vaccination before boarding the flight and submit a negative Covid-19 test before boarding the plane. A recent negative Covid-19 test for a foreign visitor travelling by land would not be needed for air travel. For foreign air travellers, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intend to publish new guidelines on contact tracing shortly.

Because of the Covid-19 epidemic, the United States government has restricted non-essential travel at land border crossings and on commercial flights since March 2020. Thirty-three countries, including India, China, Brazil, and several European countries, have restricted air travel. Announcing the removal of restrictions on air travellers from 33 nations, including India and China, on September 30, the United States administration did not provide a specific date for when the limitations would be removed.
