On a momentous occasion today, Vistara, the foremost Indian full-service airline, inaugurated its non-stop flights linking Mumbai and London. This joint venture by Tata Group and Singapore Airlines signifies a major milestone in the aviation industry.
The state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner was at the heart of the airline’s maiden flight. Taking off from Mumbai at 14:35 Hours (IST), the aircraft is scheduled to land at London Heathrow Airport at 19:55 Hours (BST). This new service is expected to operate five times weekly, augmenting connectivity and convenience for travellers.
A Flight Experience Unparalleled
In a press release from the airline, Vistara’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner is celebrated for its exceptional features and passenger comfort. Equipped with a three-class seating arrangement, contemporary interiors, wireless connectivity, an advanced in-flight entertainment system featuring live TV at 35,000 feet, and a wellness lighting solution, passengers are promised an enthralling journey.
Convenient Flight Schedule
Meticulously designed to cater to the needs of travellers, the flight schedule between Mumbai and London is as follows, effective from June 1, 2023:
- Mumbai – London (Flight No. UK 015) departing at 14:35 hrs and arriving at 19:55 hrs, operating on Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, and Sun.
- London – Mumbai (Flight No. UK 016) departing at 21:50 hrs and arriving at 11:00 hrs (+1), operating on Thu, Mon, Tue, Fri, and Sun.
Please note that all timings mentioned are in local time zones. The “+1” indicates the next-day arrival.
Commemorating the Inaugural Flight
To honour the initiation of this new international route, Vistara organized a ceremonial lamp-lighting ceremony at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.
Passengers on the inaugural flight savoured themed delicacies, including Mumbai’s iconic pav bhaji and keema pav, while the return flight served London’s signature beer, Brewdog Punk IPA.
These thoughtful touches added a festive vibe and gave passengers a taste of both cultures during their journey.
