Based on the Umma al-Qura calendar of Saudi Arabia, the time and date of Muharram will be decided. Islamic is a lunar calendar so when the first crescent of the new moon appears, then Muharram month is decided. This year Muharram month begins from 9^th August to 7th September. On 19th August Muharram or Ashura, the 10^thday of the month will be celebrated.
