Vietnam has just opened a new tourist attraction for tourists who like heights. Reports indicate that the country has opened a 150 m (490 foot) long glass-bottomed bridge atop a jungle.
As the name implies, the Bach Long pedestrian bridge, also known as the white dragon, is situated in northwest Son La Province around dizzying cliff faces that frame a stunning and dramatic valley between two peaks. According to reports, the span boasts a total length of 632 meters, as well as tempered glass floors made in France. At one time, the bridge can support up to 450 people.
The bridge operator’s representative, Hoang Manh Duy, noted that when visitors are on the bridge, they can appreciate the beauty of nature.
Company officials say it is the longest glass-bottomed bridge in the world, exceeding a Chinese structure of 526 meters. The claim will be verified next month by Guinness World Records officials.
Vietnam’s tourism chiefs are reported to be working hard to attract more tourists after two years of COVID-19 closures that sent almost all foreign tourists home.
In mid-March, Vietnam ended quarantine for international visitors and began granting visa-free travel for 15 days to citizens of 13 countries. Two weeks from now, Vietnam will host the Southeast Asian Games, which will attract more than 10000 athletes and sports staff.
Vietnam’s third glass bridge, the said bridge is also reported to be the country’s third glass bridge.
