Wangdue Phodrang is a magical small laid back city found in the 2nd biggest Dzongkhag (district) of Bhutan, sharing its name with the town. The striking'Wangdue Phodrang Dzong', overlooking the convergence of this Dang Chhu and Punatsang Chhu lakes, stays as the city's leading heritage site and a favourite tourist attraction. The assumptions of this dzong will be home to the following must-visit location in town, the renowned' Radap Temple,' also known as Radha Lhakhang.' Committed to the protector deity of the area, it's a shrine of spiritual importance and invites both tourists and locals alike.
Wangdue Phodrang can also be a location that functions as a gateway into the renowned'Phobjikha Valley', a winter resting ground for the sacred and endangered black-necked cranes. Aside from the cranes, the valley will also be famous for its unique and admired shrine, Gangtey Goemba'.

The very best time to see Wangdue Phodrang is from March to May, because of the superb weather conditions. Months from September to November have been very cool.
How to reach
On reaching the Paro airport, you have to reach Thimphu by taking a taxi or bus to Wangdue Phodrang. It requires one hour and a half to reach Wangdue out of Thimphu.
