Based on the Umma al-Qura calendar of Saudi Arabia, the time and date of Muharram will be decided. Islamic is a lunar calendar so when the first crescent of the new moon appears, then Muharram month is decided. This year Muharram month begins from 9th August to 7th September. On 19th August Muharram or Ashura, the 10thday of the month will be celebrated.
