Pench Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh introduces a unique adventure: the cycling safari. Previously, visitors could only explore the reserve using jeeps or canters. The cycle safari not only offers a thrilling experience but is also eco-friendly.
Cycle Safari Route
The latest attraction is available in the Kolitmara range of West Pench. The route spans from Kolitmara to Kunwara Bhivsen, covering a distance of 48 km. Along the way, travellers will pass through the lush greenery of Narhar, Banera, and Chargaon.
Safety Concerns Addressed
While Pench is renowned for its tigers, leopards, and sloth bears, the cycling safari is designed with safety in mind. The chosen Kolitmara range is tranquil and scenic, making it ideal for cycling adventures.
Pricing and Group Details
- Bringing your own cycle? The fee is INR 100 per person.
- Renting a cycle from the reserve? It’s INR 300 per person per day.
- Each cycle safari group consists of 2-6 individuals.
- An expert guide will accompany each group, with a guide fee of INR 1000.

The cycle safari was inaugurated on August 20, 2023, attracting around 80 enthusiasts from various age groups.

The nearest airport to Pench Tiger Reserve is Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur, which is approximately 90 km away. From the airport, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach the reserve.
By Train
The closest railway station is Seoni Railway Station, located about 30 km from the reserve. Taxis and buses are available from the station to the reserve.
By Road
Pench Tiger Reserve is well-connected by road. If you’re driving from Nagpur, take the NH7 highway, which directly leads to the reserve. The journey typically takes about 2 hours.
