Mawlyngkhung is a small village set in the east Khasi hills, Ribhoi district of Meghalaya, India. Around 17 Kms from Shillong City Centre and 34 Kms from the district Headquarter, it is one of the 305 villages of Umsning Block of Rib hoi district. The village has only 125 homes and people are fully reliant on the farming.

Umiam Lake: This place offers water sports facilities such as sailing, jet skiing for adventure lovers. The Orchid Lake Resort and the adjacent Lum Nehru Park, a fit spot for a private and peaceful vacation.
Lum Nehru Park: Adjacent to the Orchid Lake Resort, in one of the surrounding spurs, there is a delightful square, identified as “Nehru Park”. Besides the splendid gardens and peculiar species of flora, there is also an orchidarium and an aviary.
Dwar Ksuid popularly recognized as the lover point, is in Khapmara, Bhoilymbong area of Umroi. Dwar Ksuid means the Devil’s Gate. The bewitching charm of the rumbling swift-flowing river draws the visitors to this place.
The Orchid Resort, a rustic and stunning resort includes a watersports complex. The watersports complex at Umiam lake bears a unique Floating Restaurant cum Sport Deck named Flying Duck, designed by world-renowned architect Charles Correa.
Lum Sohpetbneng is about 6 Kms from Umiam, set amidst a delightful panoramic view against the scenery of sacred woods. A majestic heavenly peak, which truly means Heaven. As per the ancient Khasi mythology, it is a golden staircase between the earth and paradise. On Shillong-Guwahati Road, this peak gives an impressive view of its natural surroundings.

Festivals Mawlyngkhung
Ka Shad Sajer is a ceremonial dance annually hosted at Nongbah by Ka Seng Pynneh Riti Khat-ar Lyngdoh. It usually takes place in the last week of January. Shad Sajer is more or less like a celebration of the Ri Bhoi District. Other dances include Ka Shad Shohkba of Raid Nongkharai, Shad Shutwait and Shad Dongdong, Shad.
